NoOff Privacy Policy
Developer: Sazen Labs
Effective date: 27 October 2026

Summary
NoOff is not yet released. This policy describes the version being prepared for Google Play, and will be updated if anything changes before release.
NoOff has no account, no ads, and no analytics or tracking SDKs. Everything it stores stays on your phone. We do not collect, sell or share personal data.
Accessibility service
NoOff uses Android's Accessibility service only to provide its core features. You turn it on yourself, after you accept an in-app explanation.
The service looks at the identity of system windows: the app package, window class, window title and on-screen element IDs. It uses these to recognise the power menu and the shutdown or restart password screen, and it closes them during protection.
If you turn on optional features, it also recognises:
- the Quick Settings panel on a locked phone, to close it;
- NoOff's own pages in Settings, App info, uninstall and Device admin screens (strict mode), to close them.
It never reads or stores what you type, passwords, messages or other apps' content. It sends nothing off the phone.
The optional "Help add my phone" feature records window identity details for up to 60 seconds on the phone. The report is shared only if you choose to send it yourself through Android's share menu.
Device administrator
This is used only in optional strict mode. It exists so NoOff cannot be uninstalled while strict mode is on. NoOff uses no other admin powers: no wiping, no password rules and no locking. Turning strict mode off removes it.
Other permissions
- Notifications: status and problem alerts, and a persistent status notification.
- Start at boot: so protection starts again after the phone restarts.
- Battery optimisation exemption: to keep NoOff running.
- Exact alarms and full-screen alarms: for schedules and the alarm feature.
- Foreground service: keeps protection running and shows a notification.
- WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS (optional, special): only you can grant this, from a computer. NoOff uses it solely to turn its own Accessibility service back on if the system turns it off.
Camera and QR alarm
Scanning uses Google's code scanner, provided by Google Play services. NoOff itself does not get camera access or images. It receives only the scanned code text, which it stores on your phone to check it later. Google processes the scan under Google's privacy policy.
Data stored on your phone
- Schedules and settings.
- An activity log (event type, time, and whether the phone was locked) and stats.
- Alarms and the registered code.
- The optional Friend PIN, stored only as a salted hash, never the PIN itself.
NoOff does not back this data up to the cloud. It is deleted when you clear it in the app or uninstall NoOff.
Export and import
This happens only when you choose it. You pick where the file goes. The file never contains the Friend PIN, backup codes or the activity log.
Purchases
Purchases are handled by Google Play. NoOff receives only the purchase status needed to unlock Pro. Your payment details never reach us. See the Google Play Terms of Service and Google's privacy policy.
Children
NoOff is not directed at children under 13.
Your choices
You can turn off the Accessibility service, revoke permissions, or uninstall NoOff at any time. If strict mode is on, turn it off through the app first.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and give it a new effective date.
